Your day to day

As Vice President, Investment Analysis you will partner with functional heads to lead the region’s Investment Appraisal strategy. Your team will provide analysis & insightful management information and deal structuring support, in order to deliver the regional development objectives in accordance with IHG strategic and financial priorities. You will also provide support and strategic direction involving the use of IHG’s balance sheet for the EMEAA region.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership and Strategy - As a key member of the EMEAA Growth and Finance leadership teams, contribute to the wider strategic and operational management of the region, using industry and competitor knowledge to inform functional activity and priorities. May work on adhoc corporate projects outside of Development scope. Support the Development team in setting, developing and executing IHG's development strategy. Represents and may speak on behalf of IHG at conferences, tradeshows and industry events.

Deal Evaluation - Collaborate with MD and VP Development for each BU and CFO on development of deal structures compliant with IHG investment policy and lead financial underwriting of proposed transactions.

Deal Closing - Manages team, Development team, hotel owners and IHG internal expectations to forecast deals and support the efficient closing of deals and salvaging of dead deals in a minimum amount of time. Likely to be involved in and contribute to management contract and franchise renewals or re-negotiations involving the significant use of IHG’s balance sheet.

Deal execution – Oversees presentation of development opportunities and proposals to appropriate parties (including IHG's Development Approval Committee ("DAC"), the Regional Executive Committee ('REC') and Capital Sub Committee (“CSC”) delivering high quality and appropriate information. Will work with outside firms on market feasibility studies, site selections, pro-forma development to appropriately qualify deals. Liaises with Development Team, Legal team, Operations team, Hotel Opening Services and Hotel Performance Support teams to maintain correct deal administration procedures and handover of projects.

Capital Deployment – Lead the EMEAA Region’s use of its expansionary capital budget to ensure it has the greatest impact in growing the business including the post project review process of the projects against which capital was deployed. Identify and support requests for future capital. Track and monitor usage of key money against the annual budget.

Business Development - Liaise with brokers, investment bankers, and OPM sources in reviewing and negotiating deal structures and in identifying opportunities to foster IHG’s growth.

People Development - Lead succession planning, performance management and personal development plans for the Investment Appraisal team. Develop and build capability within the team and mentor team members to ensure the delivery of quality support to the Development Team and EMEAA region.

Tracking of Development front end fees (TSF) – Monitor collections and track P&L revenue versus budget for TSF income

Development Incentive Scheme – manage the annual process of establishing the incentive scheme; act as a control to calculate the quarterly bonus amounts, ensuring accuracy against the scheme metrics

What we need from you

Educational Attainment:

* University Bachelor degree (preferably in economics and /or commerce); MBA in Finance (desirable)

Critical Expertise & Experience:

* 10-15 years overall Finance & Business Support work experience, with ideally at least 6 years overall Hotel, Valuation and/or Finance work experience
* 5-8 years in a Senior Finance or Investment Analysis role/ equivalent position in a corporate/multinational company
* Extensive project management experience in a matrix organisation overseeing multiple business units.
* Strong Business partnering & leadership skills capable of communicating complex financial information & turning it into meaningful insight

Technical Skills & Knowledge:

* Strong coordination skills. Savvy & Action Oriented. Change agent.
* Ability to cope with multi-site operations
* Collaborative Team Player
* Excellent communication skills – written and verbal
* Strong analytical, negotiation, and consensus-building skills, effective presentation and interpersonal skills, financial modelling and report writing skills.
* Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of investment/investor practices
* Demonstrated ability to understand complex financial structures
* Demonstrated experience in leading and developing people
