The Role…

The company is on a rapid growth trajectory, both in the UK and internationally. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the expansion of Soho House. Our UK business currently encompasses 17 sites. We are due to open a new site on the Strand and there are other new openings in the pipeline.

Reporting to the Senior Business Partners, you will be part of the UK finance team based in London. The role will focus on accurate weekly and monthly reporting helping general managers and finance business partners to make informed decisions, by undertaking the following tasks as a Business Accountant to a group of restaurants:

Weekly

* Prepare weekly P&L reports with commentary for the relevant sites making sure all relevant items are captured and that the reports provide a reliable view of actual performance (i.e. minimising discrepancies to actual P&L numbers)
* Prepare weekly sales and SPH analysis
* Prepare and distribute labour trackers
* Manage the site capex process – capex submissions, invoice coding and disposals
* Provide Ad hoc analysis as directed by Senior Business Partners– cost/margin variance / revenue themes / wage spend
* Support Senior Finance Business Partners for SHUK sites with above tasks

Monthly

* Responsible for Adaco/FnBshop exports and closing periods at month end
* Ensure all payroll transfers are actioned for the month and the appropriate labour accruals made
* Calculate and post all overhead prepayments and accruals for sites
* Review nominal postings to ensure correct allocation of costs
* Posting end of month stocks and getting back up’s saved down
* Ensure that monthly balance sheet reconciliations for the relevant sites are completed
* Preparation of the monthly tronc report and audit tronc sheet’s to ensure consistency
* Review management accounts pack once the first draft has been produced and identify material variances to forecast/budget in P&L and Balance Sheet
* Provide detailed and insightful commentary for the management accounts pack
* Investigate margin discrepancies at month end with GMs and F&B Controllers to identify potential changes/improvements to processes to tighten up margin management in procurement, stock control, rota management etc
* Support Senior Finance Business Partners for SHUK sites with above tasks

Other

* Prepare annual budgets and quarterly reforecasts
* Assist with annual audit process
* Ongoing implementation of financial processes and controls
* Additional ad hoc requirement as requested
* Support the SHUK Senior Finance Business Partners with the objective to create consistent Finance processes and produce first class management information for use across the business

Requirements

* A part qualified or qualified accountant with good accounting experience and preferably from a multi-site leisure / hospitality background
* Advanced Excel skills and ideally experience with Sage Accounts package, Opera, Micros, FnBshop, and Adaco
* Organised and methodical
* Ability to deliver high quality work to tight deadlines with attention to detail
* Strong analytical skills and ability to work under own initiative and collaborate across departments.
* Ability to manage and prioritise tasks simultaneously whilst maintaining attention to detail.
* “Solution driven” as opposed to “problem focusing” with a can do and positive attitude
