In this role you will be working for Valor Hospitality Europe which is part of a leading US hotel management company with over 17 properties in the UK operating a number of recognised worldwide brands and exciting expansion plans to add more hotels in the UK and Europe.
The Senior Sous Chef role involves a range of duties, including: assisting the Head Chef overseeing the preparation and presentation of food to specifications for all hotel menus and ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene are maintained in the department. With a passionate desire to ensure our customers really do have a memorable experience the Senior Sous Chef is responsible for leading, training and motivating the kitchen the team. Menu planning, ordering, stocktaking, controlling gross profit margins, health and safety, rosters, recruitment and administration related to the department are all part of the role. In this role you will need effective organisation skills to ensure seamless service and of course great cooking ability. The Senior Sous Chef is responsible for the Kitchen department in the absence of the Head Chef.

The successful candidate must hold a food preparation and food hygiene qualification, have experience in all areas of the kitchen including stocktaking and ordering. A proven working knowledge of health and safety and food safety practices and legislation is required together with previous experience in training and supervisory a team, ordering, financial awareness and have effective organisational skills. You should be computer literate and be able to work flexible hours on any day of the week.
