The team responsible for keeping our world class greens in top condition are looking for a qualified and experienced Senior Greenkeeper.
Successful candidates will need to demonstrate high standards of presentation, an eye for detail, be good communicators, able to motivate a team and be passionate about their chosen career. Energy and flexibility are key attributes, as is experience in green keeping.
You must be prepared for outdoor work and early morning starts - 5am onwards - and be able to work on a weekend.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
To be responsible for routine maintenance tasks and to operate Golf Course equipment, sprayers and agricultural machinery to assist in maintaining the Golf Course
To take appropriate action to maintain a safe and equitable working environment, whilst being sensitive to and aware of business levels in order to maintain a disciplined but harmonious department
To maintain accurate records, stock control and the accurate application of fertilsers and chemicals to the golf course to comply with budget, COSHH, health and safety regulations and the various codes of practice
To be responsible for the allocation and monitoring of duty’s, responsibility’s and work loads of the weekend golf course team as required
To perform other duties as directed by their managers / supervisors, to meet the needs of the business
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Essential:
Sufficient previous experience as an Assistant Greenkeeper
City and Guilds / NVQ Level 2 qualification or equivalent
City and Guilds or NVQ Level 3 qualification or equivalent
PAI, PA2, PA6 spraying qualifications or equivalent
Demonstrate the ability to calibrate and set up technical spraying equipment and fertiliser spreaders.
Experience with modern spraying techniques and fertilser applications
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
To be able to work under your own initiative and solve problems quickly
Proven knowledge and experience in working with golf course plant, machinery and spraying equipment.
Desirable:
Knowledge of fine turf grass maintenance including sand construction greens
Knowledge of Health and Safety management
Knowledge of fertilisers, chemicals, weeds, pests, diseases.
Good administrative skills
Microsoft Office
