The role...

The role will provide professional advice and support to the site teams to operate to SHUK standards and drive a culture of performance and safe behaviour within their designated region.

Specifically, the role will provide multi-site operational support through:

- Effective frontline support and problem solving

- Inspecting and monitoring of the sites

- Delivering H&S and food safety training and mentoring to colleagues (senior and junior)

Principal responsibilities:

- Coordinate the safety programme to develop best practice, and maintain compliance with legal requirements and internal operating standards

- Provide support to site teams to drive and improve operational delivery across all aspects of H&S and food safety

- Develop and deliver a regional inspection, monitoring and audit plan to achieve the objectives of the SHUK safety programme and ensure statutory compliance

- Coordinate and deliver technical training to colleagues, including but not limited to company induction

- Assist with accident and incident investigations as required

- Liaise with Local Authority Inspectors and enforcement officials as required

- Nurture good working relationships both within region and across departments

- Ensure that all relevant registers, records and documentation are properly maintained

- Work closely with other safety roles within the company, assisting as required and develop a supportive relationship

Skills and qualifications:

Food safety

Level 4 Award in Managing Food Safety in Catering or similar.

Level 3 HACCP or above

H&S Level 3 or 4 Certificate in Occupational H&S or

NEBOSH General Certificate


Diploma in Food Safety and Food legislation.

Higher Certificate in Food Premises Inspection

NEBOSH Fire Certificate

- Builds proactive, supportive working relationships with all stakeholders

- Able to manage in a matrix environment


- Ensures the highest level of personal appearance at all times

- Complies with any reasonable requests from Senior Management

- Stimulates and encourages a general awareness of H&S and food safety

- Supports at all times of trading including occasional evening and weekend work
