The Role...

The Product Development Manager will support brand initiatives, sourcing strategies and the design team’s vision for Soho Home. You will be an intracule part of the supply chain process in bring bespoke products to the retail market place as well as the procurement of products to our hospitality sector. We are looking for unique talent and skills, and above all else, passion. The ideal candidate will have textile experience in product development and the procurement of products, multi task between various projects and seasonal assortments, have problem solving skills with a keen attention to detail as well as the ability to deliver within tight deadlines.

Key tasks:

* Negotiate the best prices and lead times with supplier to achieve the gross margin buying target & deliver targets.
* Manage the departmental critical path, providing guidance and direction to junior members of the team.
* Demonstrate good knowledge of your department, and materials supply base to ensure Soho Home buying power is fully leveraged.
* Working with the Merchandising and E-Com teams analyse historical sales in line with trends and design direction to manage product mix parameters.
* Work with the Soho Home Design team to interpret and adapt to market, directions and retail needs.
* Partner with legal and finance to ensure that vendor’s accounts are set up and that Terms and Conditions are agreed upon.
* Source from supplier and manufacturers on new projects, including target buying prices and MOQs (identifying vendors aligned with Soho House’s aesthetic, quality and price perimeters).

Requirements

* 5 years’ experience buying and development (tabletop would be an advantage or passion/interest)
* Extensive knowledge within manufacturing of homewares, specifically in ceramic and glass manufacture.
* Experience of European (including UK) and Far East production.
* Relevant buying experience with a home/furniture retailer.
* Experience of visiting suppliers around the world, individually as well as in a group.
