The Exciting Opportunity
The Operations Manager, contributes to the successful day to day running of this busy airport hotel by supporting the General Manager with managing a team of up to 50 team members who work within the operation of the Hampton by Hilton - London Gatwick Airport. This role will suit an experienced leader who has experience at a senior HOD level, in either a full service or a focused service hotel. You must be strong in all areas of the business and in particular, both Food and Beverage and Rooms Division, with some strong experience within Human Resources practices. A keen project manager, who is well versed at presentations to all levels of stakeholders and someone who is open to listen and use innovation to strengthen our ways of working!
We are looking for a charismatic, strong driven individual, who is a dynamic, genuine all-rounder operationally, has a background in branded hotels and can lead a team of HOD's with both commercial awareness and a guest service focused attitude. You will be responsible for leading and training the HOD team in Brand Standards, Financial awareness of their departments, including budgeting, forecasting and controlling costs in their departments, as well as delivering a great guest experience with real personality and flair. You will lead and coach the DM team and also act as Duty Manager on a rota basis.
The successful applicant for this role will be able to demonstrate great leadership skills, deliver excellent customer service, be approchable, flexible, enthusiastic, visible and confident at guiding team members to be capable in problem solving and service recovery. You will have a positive "can do" attitude, be a proactive planner and great communicator to all stakeholders within the business.
You will work closely with the General Manager and you will have the desire to learn and develop your own career, making this an exciting position for an experienced Hotel/Operations Manager with their eyes set on becoming a General Manager of the future. Our departing Operations Manager has just secured and been appointed interally to manage one of our London branded hotels.

Hampton by Hilton, London Gatwick Airport is situated at the North Terminal of London Gatwick Airport, which is the UK's second largest airport. With 194 guest bedrooms, restaurant and bar with lounge, the hotel also has a gym facility and Meeting Room for 16 people. We pride ourselves on investing and developing in our people and delivering outstanding customer service.
What We Are Looking For?
We're looking for an individual who can communicate well with others, can carry out instructions, implement brand standards and fresh ideas and is able to pay close attention to detail and will commit to providing outstanding service to our guests, you must be able to work in a fast paced enviornment and remain calm and professional in high service demand times.
You will be expected to be on the floor, demonstrating your ability as a strong leader - guiding the team and interacting with guests, to ensure that they have a great experience staying with us. You must be a great problem solver and be the main "go to person" for guests and team members alike! We take pride in serving and you will be an ambassador, in this aspect of the job.
Experience within the hotel industry, preferably larger hotels and a customer facing role is essential for this job, it will be even better, if you have previous expereince in using OnQ, the Hilton Property Management system and support systems that we use on a daily basis, full training can be given. If you Hilton brand experience this would also be very advantageous.
