Being a Memory Maker as an Meetings & Events Planning Manager

In this role, you will become part of the Edwardian family and work within Meeting & Events Sales in The May Fair

Essential Functions

* To achieve company revenue profit, customer engagement employee engagement goals by developing and implementing appropriate strategies.

Duties and Responsibilities

* Creates 100% guest satisfaction by providing the Radisson Blu Edwardian experience through performance that demonstrates the standards of, genuine hospitality and exceeding guest expectations
* Gives personal attention, takes personal responsibility and uses teamwork when providing guest service
* Listens, apologizes with empathy, finds a solution and follows through when resolving guest problems
* Provides Yes I Can Genuine hospitality and teamwork on an ongoing basis
* Assumes the responsibility to notice when the guest is not satisfied and uses their best judgment as to when it is appropriate to use the 100% Guest Satisfaction
* Participates in the development and implementation of business strategies for the hotel which are aligned with Radisson Blu Edwardian overall mission, vision, values and strategies
* Management leadership of the Planning Team
* Must ensure that the phone is answered within 3 rings and guest names are used
* To manage final details of events
* Seeks opportunities to improve the customer experience by seeking customer feedback and reviewing management reports and developing strategies to improve department and hotel services
* Maintain effective and appropriate liaison with clients throughout the planning process, coordinating planning site inspections and menu tastings where appropriate.
* Meet and greet all key clients upon arrival for their event.
* Attend/manage weekly events meeting with F%26B and Operations teams based on events for the week ahead
* Develop and maintain close working relationships with operational departments across all properties and ensure they are provided with accurate and timely event orders, ensuring a thorough handover is administered to appropriate operational personnel for all banqueting business on a timely basis prior to Event.
* Works closely with enquiries and conversion team to ensure appropriate allocation and handover of contracted events to the team
* Conducts relevant briefing meetings with the customer pre post-event
* Provides employees with the tools, training and environment they need to deliver Yes I Can service and teamwork
* Provides employees with the orientation and training needed to understand expectations and perform job responsibilities
* Provides employees with coaching and counseling as needed to achieve performance objectives and reach their fullest potential
* Performs other duties required to provide the service brand behavior and genuine hospitality
* To prepare proposals efficiently and effectively.
* Ensures a 1 hour turnaround time for the answering of a customer enquiry
* Follow up all chases for upcoming events
* To Invite all clients on a full show round of the property
* To attend all key site visit when required with the team
* Assign Email Enquiries to the team from Generic inbox
* Ensure all bookings are updated and clearly communicated to all other hotel departments.
* To monitor calls taken and ensure GAP standards are followed at all times.
* Update Opera profiles ensuring correct SOP standards
* Ensure all payments are up to date prior to the arrival of any booking.
* To ensure all final details of each booking is updated accordingly (Timings, dietary requirements, bedrooms, menus, drinks, any special requirements, etc)
* Ensure all bookings are updated and clearly communicated to all other hotel departments.
* Ensure clients have credit facilities
* Send invoices and copy invoices to clients and agents
* Prepare pro forma invoices and deposit handling
* Identify and develop sales leads
* Complete follow up sales calls
* To ensure all final details of each booking is updated accordingly (Timings, dietary requirements, bedrooms, menus, drinks, any special requirements, etc)

Key Requirements

Key Requirements

* Understands the strategic positioning of all group hotels the company within the competitive market
* Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office suite and IT applications: Opera, My HR World
* Local area knowledge, including local competition
* Product knowledge
* Excellent command of English language
* Knowledge of Radisson Blu Edwardian systems procedures
* Be aware of latest products in the market
* Confidence and the ability to communicate establish rapport
* Managerial skills-including the ability to foster teamwork and communicate effectively
* Decision Making: Improve decision making by clarifying and setting goals, sharing perspectives on reality, identifying options and creating consensus on a way forward.
* Organization: Demonstrate ability to proactively prioritize needs, put first things first, and effectively manage resources.
* Is able to assign tasks using such techniques and needs analysis, individual skills assessment, objective setting and communication.
* Collaborate effectively with other hotel employees and managers to ensure teamwork
* Strong negotiation skills
* Ensures GAP Standards are adhered to GAP Sales Call (where applicable) and GAP Showround
