Do you have experience in Chef & Kitchen Management?

Are you looking for a Head Chef role that will offer you Flexibility, variety, diversity and where you can stamp you mark on the Food and Beverage department?Based in Glasgow City Centre, at the newly renovated voco Grand Central Hotel our Head Chef will work closely with the operations team, in a FTSE 100 Company with a Global footprint that specialises in delivering exceptional services to its guests.

As Head Chef you would be Responsible for production, cleanliness and safe systems of work in a single restaurant kitchen and works collaboratively with departmental head to deliver a seamless guest experience, particularly where food is a critical component of the experience. You will ensure the food is prepared and received by the guest in a timely manner to the highest quality.

The Role:

This role will give a great opportunity for a Head Chef to coach and lead the kitchen team and play a major part in the property’s growth and development.

* Within context of objectives set by Executive Chef, assign tasks, and monitor progress against performance metrics
* Works alongside the team cooking and directly impacting the food quality and subsequently, guest experience
* Accountable for the recruitment and rostering of team members to support the most effective and efficient operation of the kitchen to consistently exceed guest expectation
* Ensures the kitchen has the tools it needs for the team to do their work right
* Leads the delivery of operational training needs to drive consistency in food delivery
* Ensures work of team is performed consistently within expected standard
* Improve processes, systems or products
* Solve multiple, undefined problems that span multiple workflows
* Conduct regular check-ins and engagement of team members
* Identifies training gaps
* Demonstrates relevant functional experience and good knowledge of relevant topics
* Proven record of self-initiative and demonstrating capability to lead a team)
* Demonstrates collaboration with other departments
* Coaching and supporting team members to develop
* Steps up to leads multiple kitchen brigades when required
* Responds to guest feedback and behaviours for the betterment of food experience (i.e. menu engineering).

The Person:

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing a people focused Kitchen team and have strong people leadership experience.

* To have led previously at least as a Sous Chef a kitchen for 3 or more years within a global branded establishment or restaurant with comparable size and complexity.
* Our Head Chef must be experienced in local cuisine, with practical experience of at least one other cuisine and experience catering meetings, social events and restaurants
* As a minimum, must have completed level 3 Food Safety certification and have knowledge in HACCP
* Knowledge of appropriate systems to support operational processes –Micros Simphony (or relevant POS), Procure Wizard and Quinyx
* Has knowledge of appropriate brand standards relating to food and the ability to create and deliver appropriate menus, using appropriate suppliers and products
* We are looking for a head chef who networks within the food & beverage industry and is up to date with critical issues and trends in food.
