The Principal London

The Principal London will open early 2018 following a multi-million pound refurbishment from top to toe.

Originally opened in 1898 by the Frederick Hotels Company, and designed by Charles Fitzroy Doll, The Principal London is a listed, landmark ‘grande dame’ that occupies the eastern flank of Russell Square in Bloomsbury. The Principal London will combine the rich heritage of the original hotel with modern touches, vibrant bars and buzzing restaurants.

Duty Manager

We have a fantastic opportunity for a dynamic and experienced Duty Manager to join The Principal London. As our Duty Manager, you will have a hands on role in the overall day to day hotel operation. You will be a key player in ensuring the highest level of service is provided in all operational areas to maximise guest satisfaction. Acting as a first point of contact for emergencies, strong knowledge of crisis management and emergency procedures for the hotel will be essential. This is an exciting time to join our pre-opening team, and lead in delivering a guest experience that is intuitive, warm, and safe.

Reporting into the Front of House Manager, the Duty Manager role will include:

* First responder in the event of an emergency or any guest incidents throughout the hotel, ensuring they are dealt with in an efficient manner

* Support all departments when needed with guest queries and people support

* Work with the management team and HOD’s across the hotel to support the efficient running of all departments

* Promote strong interdepartmental relations throughout the hotel

* Act as a champion for fire and health & safety procedures

* Demonstrate ability to drive business and promote all the services at the hotel to a very high standard

* Lobby presence to meet and greet guests with warmth and answering any queries they may have

* Lobby management during busy periods to ensure enough coverage for a smooth operation

* Support the Guest Relations team with VIP guests

* Ensure strong hotel product knowledge to confidentily showcase the hotel

* Ensure consistent knowledge of the hotels quality standards and that the guest experience is second to none for all guests

As the Duty Manager you will:

* Have previous Duty Manager experience, preferable in a luxury 4 or 5-star hotel

* Have a distinctive blend of confidence and personality to help give our guests an unforgettable experience

* Be capable of making Intuitive decisions in favour of the guest and maintain the highest standards of service

* Have knowledge of Opera, Micros and Knowcross

* Demonstrate a “can do” attitude always being warm, generous and intuitive to all colleagues and our guests

* Be able to remain calm whilst working under pressure

* Be flexible and respond to a variety of different work situations
