Rosewood Hotels and Resorts is looking for a Director of Security. The Director of Security manages and supervises the Security team to ensure the safety and security of all hotel guests, employees, and property. The Director of Security is charged with responsibility for all emergency/fire procedures including developing and updating evacuation and readiness plans for a wide variety of scenarios, responsibility for loss prevention initiatives, investigation /resolution of guest incidents, and overall property safety programs. Additionally, this position has oversight of the hotel’s package room ensuring safety and security of items received and delivered.

Key Responsibilities

* Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies, service procedures and standards ensuring that standards are maintained at a superior level daily.

* Develops and updates policies and manuals, as related to the division/department, for implementation in the field, while ensuring compliance to the same for consistency across the group.

* Support the hotel philosophy concerning hiring, employee relations, disciplinary action, training, counseling, evaluating, etc.

* Prepare work schedules for effective staffing, ensuring efficient operation of the department within specific labor standards.

* Foster and promote a cooperative working climate, maximizing productivity and employee morale.

* Maintain effective flow of communication by attending required hotel meetings and conducting departmental pre-shift and monthly associate meetings.

* Interact and respond in a courteous and professional manner with all guests, associates and community members, inclusive of resolving all guest and staff difficulties.

* Ensure that all materials and equipment are in complete readiness for service; rectify deficiencies with respective personnel.

* Establish and maintain control procedures for the lost and found department.

* Maintain proper recordkeeping and record retention of all department specific items to include any reported incidents (guest and associate) or unusual circumstances. Ensure proper escalation of information to the Hotel Manager/Managing Director for comments and follow-up.

* Responds to and oversees emergency situations as necessary.

* All other duties as required.
