This hands on role is based at our largest flagship London property, the prestigious Grand Connaught Rooms, where we regularly host unforgettably incredible events such as movie premiere after parties and high profile fashion, music and charity events. Reporting to the Regional HR Director and responsible for managing a team of 5, you’ll have the opportunity to bring to life an innovative and engaging people strategy across our London cluster of 5 venues and properties.

Director of HR - London Cluster

Grand Connaught Rooms is the largest property in the London portfolio, so will certainly be a primary focus, but you’ll also be responsible for implementing the HR strategy across 4 other venues that make the cluster: Holborn Bars, West One, Canary Wharf and Devonport House.

What you’ll bring to this role:

* Strong influencing and persuasion skills as a pivotal member of the exec team

* A proactive business partnering approach

* The ability to build trust and establish your expertise with property General Managers and key stakeholders, ensuring a shared vision of our people strategy

* Proven experience of building a positive work environment, leading by example through your infectious “can do” attitude

* Adept at coaching senior members of the team to drive change and lead improvement

* A natural passion for training, developing and engaging colleagues, championing our culture, mission, vision and values

As Director of HR you’re the key advocate for making the London cluster a truly amazing place to work.

Key responsibilities:

* Implementing a positive, customer focused culture of exceptional service delivery

* Managing effective payroll control

* Ensure sound, proactive advice and guidance is provided on all HR issues to the senior management teams and General Managers

* Plan and execute effective recruitment and retention strategies and solutions

* Ensuring full compliance with legislative and statutory standards

* Overseeing the training delivery to the cluster, ensuring the right skills and knowledge for our colleagues, and identifying and developing talent

* Bring to life recognition strategies and embedding them into the cluster culture

* Responsible for driving all group policies and ensure procedural good practice is adhered to

* Ensuring full compliance with legislative and statutory standards
