Being a Memory Maker as a Commis Chef

In this role, you will become part of the Edwardian family and work within Food Production in Radisson Blu Edwardian Berkshire

A Commis chef will be learning a specific section whilst working under a Chef de Partie.

They will learn areas of the kitchen to create a basic knowledge and understanding of his

culinary journey.

Duties and Responsibilities

* Assists with all hot and cold food preparation, including banquets when necessary

* Aids with the preparation of sauces, soups and hot entrees for service and special functions, ensuring that all stations are set for forecasted covers

* Demonstrates basic recipe knowledge for soups, sauces and entrees, making suggestions to improve quality and eliminate waste

* Gives personal attention and takes personal responsibility to uses teamwork when providing guest service

* Helps to organise and maintain work areas, coolers and storage areas

* Prepares work checklist and organises work stations for each shift

* Assists personnel in checking coolers and storage areas for cleanliness, quantity and quality of food products

* Ensures that proper plate presentation and requisitioning procedures are followed

* Understands and follows basic health and hygiene procedures

* Understands and follows basic food storage procedures

* Assists with all hot and cold food preparation, including banquets when necessary

* Helps to organize and maintain work areas, coolers and storage areas

Key Requirements

* Have a good level of food product knowledge, and an understanding of food preparation techniques

* Has good command of the English language

* Is knowledgeable of Edwardian Hotels London systems and procedures

* Holds a level 2 Food hygiene certificate

* Has three months minimum experience working in the kitchen

* Can use a knife and other kitchen tools/implements properly
