To assist in the production of all food preparation for a relevant section, under the supervision of a Chef De Partie



A Full Time position based at the Preston Marriott Hotel.


Non Financial


Adhere to specifications

Avoid wastage at all times

Ensure understanding of menus and produce

Follow requirements and assist the Kitchen Management in achieving GPs and Budgets

To ensure consistency and to provide a ‘Spirit to Serve’

To ensure that all Health, Safety and Food Hygiene legislation is adhered to at all times.




2yrs Previous experience in a similar operation (preferred)

Skills and Knowledge


Strong Communication skills (verbal, listening, writing)


High Standard of personal hygiene and appearance


Pro-active and reliable


Able to work alone and within a team


Flexible – shift pattern


Must be Customer Focused

Education or Certification


NVQ level ½ or equivalent (preferred)


Basic Food Hygiene certification (Preferred)

Job Summary


The following are specific responsibilities and contributions critical to the successful performance of the position:

To ensure that all tasks given by the Chef de Partie or Demi Chef are completed in a timely manner and to the highest standard

To ensure that communication is maintained with all the Kitchen Team

Ensure that all food handled within the section is handled in a hygienic manner

Ensure that all current legislation – Health, Safety and Hygiene is followed

To assist in the running of the section with the Demi Chef and Chef de Partie

To work in clean, tidy environment

To keep wastage to a minimum to ensure the achievement of the food GP.

Ensure floats are counted and balanced at start and end of shift and they are secure at all times. Blind Banking

procedures are followed along with all local and Marriott policies and procedures.


* Performs other related tasks as assigned by management.

* Complies with Marriott International Hotels Limited Regional Office policies and procedures.
