We are looking for an experienced chef who cooks with imagination and flair for large groups within a tightly controlled budget.    We are a 12 bedroom chalet based in the French Alps,  that can have around 40 people staying at peak times

The ideal candidate will have

  • Experience of cooking for large groups
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Excellent budget management skills
  • Good interpersonal skills
  •   City & Guilds 706/1 + 2 or equivalent with hotel/restaurant experience  
  • Valid food hygiene certificate
  • Valid UK Driving License

Key Responsibilities

  • Menu planning within budget
  • Food  purchasing within budget
  • High standard of food preparation and service at breakfast/dinner
  • Preparation of a 3-course evening meal
  • Training chalet hosts to assist in food service/preparation  
  •   Maintaining kitchen to Health and Safety requirements  


  • Accomodation in shared local apartment
  • Meals with guests
  • Use of staff car
  • Portes du Soleil lift pass
  • Carte Neige insurance
  • Medical cover
  • Employer’s liability insurance
  • Return flight from UK to Geneva
  • Transfers to/from Geneva Airport at beginning and end of season
  • Share in tips and bar profit at the end of the season  
  • In addition to this, we offer 1 week at the owner’s rate for friends and family to stay at the Chalet, subject to availability. 

Candidates interested in this position will need to be over 23 (for minibus insurance) in possession of a permanent UK. National Insurance number, a UK or EU passport, an EHIC card, a UK contact address and a UK bank account.
