The Exciting Opportunity

We have commenced our search for a Dinner Chef at the Holiday Inn Express Southampton, a property that generates £4.5 million turnover. Reporting to the Kitchen Manager, you will have a strong focus on the delivery of exceptional guest care in a branded environment as well as the commercial performance of the business.

As Dinner Chef you will be responsible for the preparation and presentation of all food items in accordance with the company food and beverage standards and standardised menu guidelines. You will train multi-skilled team members in the preparation of a limited, easy to prepare menu. You will monitor standards of production to ensure quality. You will be responsible for kitchen cleanliness ensuring all kitchen areas are maintained in a hygienic condition at all times and ensuring adherence to all hygiene and allergy standards and polices.

You must be aware of the overall hotel objectives, how they relate to you and the team and how your daily activities contribute to the success of the hotel against the business drivers of People, Quality & Profit, the hotel and business vision.

The Dinner Chef is responsible for controlling the stock for a limited menu by liaising with the Kitchen Manager.

Where Will You Be Working?

This fantastic hotel comprising of 182 “Generation 4” bedrooms is located adjacent to the Ageas Bowl, home to the Hampshire County Cricket Club.

It's six miles to the Southampton docks, where ocean-bound cruises depart, and a 5-minute drive to catch flights at Southampton Airport. The hotel is just off the M27 motorway, and 5 minutes from the M3. Hedge End Train Station is 10 minutes away by bus, getting you to Portsmouth Harbour in 40 minutes and London Waterloo in 90 minutes.

The hotel boasts five fully equipped meeting rooms and plenty of free parking as well.

What are we looking for?

You must have experience of a busy kitchen and preferably within a hotel. You must also be able to demonstrate a track record of great leadership, ambition, enthusiasm and passion for the hotel industry!
