Set in 18 acres in the heart of Somerset, Babington House opened in 1998 for those who wanted to enjoy the countryside but weren’t prepared to compromise on urban luxuries. With 32 individually designed bedrooms for all occasions as well as the Main House were you will find the restaurant, traditional stone Orangery, Deli Bar, Library, Snooker Room and Study.

Other facilities at Babington House include the Cowshed Relax spa, indoor and outdoor heated pools, a gym, steam room, sauna, and Cinema. The grounds have tennis courts, a cricket pitch, croquet lawn, walled garden which or gardens grow herbs, vegetables which supply our kitchen daily as well as our onsite chapel and idyllic lake.

The role…

We are looking for a passionate and experienced Assistant Housekeeping Manager to work with our fantastic Housekeeping team here at Babington House. You must have previous experience with high standards, working with a large, diverse team and also great attention to detail. The role will be in charge of all rooms and public areas around the site including stock take, ordering and laundry services.

This position will be responsible for assisting the Housekeeping Manager in managing housekeeping staff, inspecting guest rooms, training, coordinating and delegating tasks, and providing quality service to all guests who come to Soho House. Supporting the management team as needed.

* Planning and organizing accommodation.

* Coordinating guest laundry services and ensures that charges are posted accurately and in a timely manner.

* Able to resolve employee and guest issues.
* Managing Housekeeping staff, including training, disciplinary procedures, delegation of work, evaluation of performance.
* Managing staff attendance and punctuality, coordinating staff levels to commiserate with business needs.
* Conducting regular walk through of the property to ensure standards of cleanliness.
* Conduct regular room inspections.

* Work closely with Front Desk and House Manager to coordinate room maintenance and guest check in.
* Monitor and report room discrepancies to the Front Office.
* Coordinate work orders with the Maintenance team and follow up until completion.
* Conduct daily briefings
* Investigates complaints regarding housekeeping services and equipment and take corrective action
* Participate in training new hires and monitor their progress.
* Perform cleaning duties
* Performs other duties as assigned by Manager.
