The Exciting Opportunity

The Assistant Financial Controller contributes to the overall success of the hotel. Reporting directly to the Financial Controller and deputising in her absence you will be directly involved in delivering accurate monthly management accounts and the monthly balance sheet. This is a varied role and tasks include daily business reporting, accounts receivable, accounts payable, daily banking and payroll.

You will be involved in commercial decision making and support the operational managers enabling them to effectively manage the resources within their control and impact the profitability of their departments.

Where Will You Be Working?

Doubletree by Hilton City Centre is a branded hotel with 138 bedrooms with a relaxed and chilled bar, a brasserie that wants to excite your senses and is home to Edinburghs iconic SKYbar. We put the human touch back into your travel experience, ideally located in the heart of the city, within walking distance of both Waverely and Haymarket station and just 30 minutes from Edinburgh airport. You will be based here and work closely with colleagues at our central office in Glasgow.

What Are We Looking For?

You will be ambitious, analytical and highly numerate with excellent communication skills and a very strong drive for results. You will be able to demonstrate a track record of achievement through teamwork and leadership skills.

Suitable applicants are likely to be an Assistant Financial Controller in a smaller operation or have the right level of experience within a similiar sized business with some previous supervisory experience. As Assistant Financial Controller you will be able to demonstrate good business acumen and have experience of Receivable and Payable.

Additionally you will have had exposure to all operational areas of a hotel with an emphasis on Front Office and Food & Beverage as you will be reporting on revenue from these areas as well as auditing each month.
