OVERVIEW/BASIC FUNCTION:
The Assistant Director of Food and Beverage actively displays leadership and guidance to the catering and to the division when dealing with all aspects of guest contact activities and both service and quality product delivery to customers. To provide supervision of the Food and Beverage team to ensure that there is efficient, systematic, organized and creative planning and preparation of events by maintaining a close working relationship with clients. Be responsible for direct sales solicitation on specific international geographic markets and local accounts for group business, conventions, luncheon, dinner events and associations. Ensure that budgeted revenues are achieved through the highest standard of quality and service. Report to the Director of Food and Beverage.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Monitor productivity guidelines for all F&B departments.
* Maximize profits within F&B.
* Responsible for hiring, training, coaching, counseling, and consistent team building, through working directly with a team of professional trained servers and the Food & Beverage Management team.
* Assist and ensure that standards are maintained at a superior level on a daily basis.
* Prepare, implement and maintain division standards and control objectives.
* Participate in establishment of a marketing and public relations plan for F&B.
* Establish and implement annual objectives for F&B department.
* Prepare and maintain operating budget. Attend budget meetings on a regular basis.
* Select and supervise F&B department heads.
* Support and uphold hotel philosophy concerning hiring, employee relations, supervision, and disciplinary action.
* Participate in quality control activities.
* Ensure the F&B department operates based on the departmental mission statement.
* Interact in courteous and professional manner with all guests, associates and community members.
* Respond in courteous, professional and rapid manner in order to resolve all guest and associates difficulties.
